We Take Care of Each Other

In Louisiana, mutual aid is about neighbors supporting neighbors through direct, community-led care. From hurricanes and housing instability to food insecurity, overdose prevention, and barriers to healthcare, communities across the state have long relied on one another to survive systems that often leave people behind. At Below Sea Level Aid, our mutual aid programs provide practical support with dignity and without judgment — connecting people to food, harm reduction supplies, transportation, clothing, emergency resources, and community care rooted in solidarity rather than charity.

Mutual Aid Hotline

Our Mutual Aid Hotline connects community members across Louisiana with direct support, resources, and referrals for urgent everyday needs. The hotline helps individuals access food assistance, harm reduction supplies, transportation support, clothing, hygiene items, emergency resources, and connections to local services.

Community members can call or text us at (504)408-1888 to have harm reduction and basic needed items delivered to them within the Greater New Orleans Area.

NOSWF

The fund helps address immediate needs such as housing support, transportation, food assistance, hygiene products, emergency funds, and access to healthcare and harm reduction supplies. The program recognizes the unique barriers sex workers face, including stigma, criminalization, violence, and healthcare discrimination.
