Prevention, Empowerment, and Life Skills
pel re-entry services
PEL (Prevention, Empowerment, and Life Skills) is a low-barrier, re-entry program dedicated to supporting individuals transitioning from incarceration, with a particular focus on those facing drug-related charges. We provide a comprehensive range of services to help participants successfully reintegrate into society and build stable, fulfilling lives.
Our services are designed to be accessible to all, with no requirements for proof of residency or income, ensuring that those who need support the most can access it. From education and employment assistance to legal aid, life skills development, and peer support, PEL is here to empower individuals in their journey toward recovery and independence.
-
Employment and Education
PEL helps participants gain the skills and resources needed to secure stable employment and further their education. We assist with job searches, resume building, interview preparation, and GED or vocational training referrals to set individuals up for long-term success.
-
legal aid
Navigating legal barriers post-incarceration can be overwhelming. PEL provides assistance with record expungement, obtaining identification documents, and connecting participants with legal professionals who specialize in re-entry challenges.
-
peer support
Lived experience is at the core of PEL. Our peer-led support groups create a space for individuals to share their journeys, receive guidance, and build a strong community that fosters resilience and accountability.
-
life skills
Successful reintegration requires practical tools for daily life. PEL offers workshops on financial literacy, housing stability, conflict resolution, and personal development to help participants regain independence and stability.
